We need more Nerds. We should have a nerd convention and recruit some.

Mon, March 22, 2004 - 1:15 PMoh my, that sound fun.
some time back, i bought these tiny japanese made mech-looking toy robots that supposedly played soccer. however, they couldn't really kick. you just had to aim them in the direction of the ball and hope they ran into it. well, that is all the robo-excitement i get until i can make it to the ROBOlympics. -

Re: More Nerds
Tue, March 23, 2004 - 1:56 PMi like teeny tiny robots. i missed the nano sumo robot match at ROBOlympics, but got to see some interesting humanoid bots that were seemed well-versed in martial arts and gymnastics. there was one that was scary. it would just stand, violently shaking with rage, fists clenched. perhaps a strategy to psych out its robot opponent. or a glitch.
the Cube-bot soccer players were legless. they were just small cubes, smaller than a rubik's cube. very speedy and strong, they had a beehive mentality and were not remote-controlled. more like Cube-piranhas, swarming to nab and push what seemed to be an orange golf ball into the goal.
i can't wait to see the movie I, Robot.
